And thus it goes. Thaw time is upon us, of sorts. It is actually snowing outside and according to the weather service we will see a "light ashfall" as well from the erupting Mt. Redoubt.
Ah the joys of Arctic life.

I've been reading about Mt Redoubt. Interesting name. How did it come by it?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question. Apparently it is so named because of its shape, like a type of hilltop fortress called a redoubt. At least that's the only explanation I could find. There are also three mountains with the same name I discovered.
ReplyDeleteToday we had a major eruption about 3:30 PM which dumped a thin layer of ash over the whole city of Anchorage. The sky smells like sulphur right now.
